Webinar - Skipavika Green Ammonia(SkiGA): Leading the Way in Green Maritime Fuel Production

Agenda

  • Introduction

  • Overview on Skipavika Green Ammonia project – Fuella

  • Maritime transportation of ammonia for industrial offtake - EnBW

  • Options for Ammonia bunkering and commercialization – EnBW

  • Q&A

The European maritime industry is responsible for emitting approximately 140 million metric tons of CO₂ annually. In response, the ReFuel EU Maritime Act has introduced stringent decarbonization targets for maritime fuels, rendering many current fuel options increasingly unsustainable. Hydrogen and its derivative, ammonia, are emerging as essential solutions to achieving climate neutrality in the sector. Notably, ammonia is gaining attention as a promising energy vector due to its established transport infrastructure and potential for direct use in decarbonizing maritime operations.

Building on our previous webinars about the role of ammonia in maritime and shipping, this session will showcase a groundbreaking project in Norway: the Skipavika Green Ammonia (SkiGA) project. Developed by Fuella in collaboration with EnBW, SkiGA is one of Europe’s first green ammonia production facilities compliant with RFNBO (Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin) standards.

This webinar will focus on the commercialization of SkiGA's 100 ktpa (kilotons per annum) green ammonia production, covering the facility’s production process, maritime transportation of ammonia, and bunkering options, as well as future possibilities for ammonia bunkering.

Ocean Highway Cluster invites you to join us for this insightful webinar on Tuesday, September 24th, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (CEST).

The webinar will be conducted in English and is open to all.
