Welcome to the cluster, Fuella

“We see Ocean Hyway Cluster as an attractive cluster”

FUELLA is a hydrogen platform at the forefront of the energy transition. We are developing, building and operating green hydrogen and green ammonia plants, among others the first large-scale green ammonia plant in Europe.

FUELLA was founded in 2020 by a group of experienced energy professionals with more than 100 years of combined experience and the clear mission to actively shape the energy transition by providing green fuels to heavy industries.

What is Fuella’s primary focus at the moment?

Our main focus at the moment is to further develop our two green ammonia initiatives in Norway; SkiGa (130 MW) in Gulen Municipality and KorGA (260 MW) in Hemnes Municipality.

Could you share more about your projects in Gulen(SkiGA) and Hemnes(KorGA)?

Our projects are helping to decarbonize the global economy and create a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Project Skipavika(SkiGA) in Norway is one of Europe’s first large-scale green ammonia projects. Located in the vicinity of the Mongstad basin outside Bergen, an important hub for the oil and gas industry, this project is developed by FUELLA in partnership with Skipavik Næringspark.
It will be designed and built by Casale, a global leader in the field of ammonia plants.

The project will produce up to 100,000 tons of green ammonia per year, using only renewable resources, such as wind and hydro power, as well as air and water in order to replace fossil fuel-based ammonia and reduce carbon emissions.

Project KorGA: Located next to the town of Mo i Rana in Norway, in a region renowned for its natural beauty and potential for renewable energy, and in close vicinity to the Nedre Røssåga substation and hydro power plant at Korgen, Nordland fylke, the facility has optimal preconditions to produce green ammonia.

The facility has a daily production capacity of 600 metric tons per day or 200,000 tons of green ammonia per year is planned to be second project of Fuella.

The electrolyzer capacity is expected to reach 260MW, maximizing the utilization of local renewable energy sources.

What is your primary focus when it comes to sustainability?

The accreditation from Nordhordland UNESCO biosphere highlights the SkiGA project’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Expected to go into operation in 2026, this project is an example of the potential for sustainable, green technologies to drive positive change in the fight against climate change.

Do you have any projects, recent contracts, or other news that you would like us to highlight in this introduction article?

Our SkiGA project won funding from the European Hydrogen Bank, triumphing over 131 other projects. The project will receive NOK 963 million to produce renewable ammonia in Vestland. This achievement highlights our commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions.
