Welcome to the team, Ida Louise!

Ida Louise is our new student employee, and will be working with us once a week, mainly on Wednesdays.

Tell us about Ida Louise! 🌼

I am 23 years old and from Stord.

I am currently on the last year of my masters in energy engineering at The University of Bergen, writing my thesis on hydrogen production using nanofluids for heat transfer enhancement.

For a long time I have been passionate about climate change and sustainability, wanting to make a difference, so studying energy engineering was the perfect match for me.

I believe the green energy transition is an important key in the fight against climate change.

Since I was a child I have always enjoyed beeing outdoors, hiking, skiing and recent years I have been inspired to start sailing as well. I think my interests and passion for the outdoors also motivates me to study and work with subjects that will make the world more sustainable.

What motivated you to apply for the position with us?
My thesis will be about hydrogen production, which I think is a very promising technology, important if we want to transition to renewable energy resources. The hydrogen industry is young and I believe knowledge sharing is essential for the hydrogen infrastructure in Norway to grow. I have been verry lucky to have had a summer internship at HYDS where they have hydrogen production plants in operation. This has given me a lot of valuable knowledge on the needs and challenges within the hydrogen industry that I wanted to continue to work on improving. There was in other words a lot of factors that motivated me to apply for OHC. I was really interested in taking part in their work. The values they have at OHC and the cluster concept also caught my interest quickly.

It is also an amazing opportunity to have a part time job like this whilst beeing a student, gaining knowledge from the industry directly. I am grateful for the opportunity to step into the field this early.

What will your responsibilities be at Ocean Hyway Cluster?

Starting off this fall I will be working on OHC's infrastructure map on hydrogen/ammonia in Norway. I will make sure it is up to date and see if it needs any changes/updates/additional functions.
