5 Reasons why you should attend MHME22

The 7th Conference on Maritime Hydrogen and Marine Energy is right around the corner and will be arranged in Florø 21 – 22. September 2022. This year is all about connecting the value chains needed to develop the hydrogen industry onshore and offshore. Here are 5 reasons why you should attend the conference:

1: Broaden your insights on the latest developments

The conference gives you updates on the latest developments from relevant actors and projects. The agenda is filled with presentations, workshops and discussions on hydrogen and marine energy.

Did you see the news about Azane Fuel Solutions receiving Approval in Principle (AiP) for their ammonia bunkering terminals? Steinar Kostøl, CTO of Azane Fuel Solutions, is joining the conference and having a presentation on “Bunkering - the missing link”. Azane Fuel Solutions addresses barriers for ship owners and cargo owners to decarbonise, by providing bunkering solutions for the ammonia value chain.

2: Visit Norway’s largest supply base

As a part of the programme 21 - 22 September, you can join a field trip to Fjord Base - Norway’s largest supply base. You will learn how they use their experience in the oil industry to transition into the energies of the future, with their hydrogen and ammonia projects. The hydrogen project at Fjord Base, HyFuel, is one of the five actors receiving support from Enova to produce hydrogen. You sign up for the field trip when you book your conference ticket. With over half of the seats on the field trip already taken we recommend you buy your conference ticket soon if you want to join!

If you would like to know more about the daily life of HyFuel before visiting, we had a chat with their project manager Vegard Lavik about their aim to produce green hydrogen in Florø. You can read the article here.

3: Networking, learning and fun in a single package

The conference is a great arena to meet relevant actors across the value chains. Over 75 people have signed up for the conference, so the tickets are flying fast! Registered participants come from production, research, consulting and consumer. This conference could be the start of a new partnership or project!

4: Mini Hackaton Horizon Europe

Join us in a workshop where we dive into a few of the upcoming calls in Horizon Europe. With the steady supervision of several skilled facilitators, you will work in groups, each of you contributing with your own experience and knowledge in solving an industry challenge. Maybe you come up with an idea that is worth taking further?

5: Experience a part of Western Norway – Dinner at Knutholmen

On 21. September participants of the conference can join us for dinner at Knutholmen. About as far west in Norway as it is possible to travel, on an island facing the Atlantic Ocean - this is where you find Knutholmen. A family-run hotel with historic sea houses in stunning surroundings, and a restaurant known for its excellent seafood. We will depart from Florø to Knutholmen at 18:30 by boat and will be served a three-course meal with world-class ingredients from their doorstep.
